Starting in Roseville, Minnesota, Central Power Distributors, Inc. was founded in 1985 by current company president John Schaller. With an emphasis on customer service, Central Power Distributors, Inc. [also known as CPD] made an immediate positive impact with our customers. Selling to dealers, service distributors, and original equipment manufacturers in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, we began to earn the trust that has continued to carry us forward to this day.

In 1994, we expanded our customer base to include the Upper peninsula of Michigan, eastern 2/3 of Wisconsin, the northern half of Illinois, and the northwest corner of Indiana. A warehouse was built in Menomonee Falls, WI to provide next day shipping at ground prices to most of those customers.

Growth caused concern with the Roseville facility and we moved to our current location in Anoka, MN to prepare for our growth in 1995. This facility houses our customer service department, technical support, education, accounting and sales & marketing.

In 1999 CPD grew once again and we opened an building in Dayton, OH. Our Dayton office sells to accounts in Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Indiana.

On January 30, 2006, due to even more growth and after taking on new & bigger lines, the Minnesota location moved into a new facility at 3801 Thurston Ave, Anoka, MN 55303.
